The Korean Society for Indoor Environment was established in 2003 to scientifically assess indoor pollution problems and to produce a more efficient management plan following an in-depth discussion by a group of relevant researchers on the necessity of a society. The society plans to serve as an integrated center for comprehensive and continuous researches on the identification of phenomena, health impact assessment and control technology in the indoor environmental area. The society aims to contribute to the citizens and society by establishing public consensus based on academic research results for management measures and solution of indoor environmental pollution issues. It is anchored on putting importance on the connection with the industries, academia, research institutes and civic organizations taking into consideration the diversity of indoor environment researches.
